Parabéns Hugh!

Clip: "The Lives of Hugh"
Música "The Lives Of Me" (Peter Allen) cantada por Hugh Jackman (gravação original do show "The Boy From Oz").

TBFO "Not the Boy Next Door"

The Boy From Oz : Peter volta para a Austrália para visitar sua mãe Marion Woolnough (Beth Fowler), mas percebe que não pode mais viver lá. Não pertence mais ao lugar onde nasceu.

Hugh apresentou essa música no programa Good Morning America (apresentadora Diane Saywer). Também foi a música tema do show na apresentação do Prêmio Tony de 2004. Video aqui (site HJ MultiMedia).

Not the Boy Next Door (Peter Allen, Dean Pitchford)

Coming home use to feel so good
I'm a stranger now in my neighborhood
I've seen the world at a faster pace
And I'm coming now from a diffrent place
Though I may look the same way to you
Underneath there is somebody new

I am not the boy next door
I don't belong like I did before

Nothing ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams but you can't have me
oh I can't come back here anymore
'Cause I am not the boy next door

You've been saving those souvenirs,
Faded photographs from my foolish years
I've made plans, but they're wearing thin
And they won't work out 'cause I don't fit in
And those memories will just weigh me down
I got no place to keep 'em uptown

I am not the boy next door
I don't belong like I did before
Nothing ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams but you can't have me

I can't come back here anymore
'Cause I am not the boy next door

I'm not sorry for just being me
if you'd look past the past you could see

That

I am not the boy next door
I don't belong like I did before
Nothing ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams but you can't have me

Oh I can't come back here anymore
'Cause I am not
I am not
I am not... The boy next door

TBFO "Id Rather Leave While Im in Love"

The Boy From Oz : O casamento de Peter Allen (Hugh Jackman) e Liza Minelli (Stephanie J. Block) chega ao fim.

I'd Rather Leave While I'm in Love (Peter Allen, Carole Bayer Sager)

Liza: I'd rather leave while I'm in love
While I still believe the meaning of the word
I'll keep my dreams and just pretend
That you and I were never meant to end

Too many times I've seen the rose die on the vine
And somebody's heart gets broken
Usually it's mine
I don't wanna take the chance of being hurt again
And you and I can't say goodbye

So if you wake and find me gone
Just carry on
You see I need my fantasy
I still believe it's best to leave while I'm in love

Peter: Too many times I've seen the rose die on the vine
And somebody's heart gets broken
Usually it's mine
I don't wanna take the chance of being hurt again
And you and I can't say goodbye

So if you wake and find me gone
Just carry on
You see I need my fantasy
I still believe it's best to leave while I'm in love
Oh yeah
I still believe it's best to leave while I'm in love

TBFO "Quiet Please Theres a Lady On Stage"

The Boy From Oz : Judy Garland (Isabel Keating) morre.

Quiet Please, There's a Lady On Stage (Peter Allen, Carole Bayer Sager)

Peter: Quiet please, there's a lady on stage.
She may not be the latest rage,
But she's singing, and she means it.
And she deserves a little silence.

Quiet please, there's a woman up there,
And she's been honest through her songs
Long before your consciousness was raised.
Now doesn't that deserve a little praise.

So put your hands together, help her along,
All that's left of the singer's, all that's left of the song.
Stand for the ovation, and give her one last celebration.

Quiet please, there's a person up there,
Who's singin' of the sins that none of us could bear
To hear for ourselves,
Give her your respect if nothing else.

Put your hands together, help her along,
All that's left of the singer's all that's left of the song.
Rise to the occasion,
And give her one last celebration.

Judy: Quiet please, there's a lady on stage.
Conductor, turn the final page.
When it's over, we can all go home.
She lives on on the stage alone.

So put your hands together, and help her along,
All that's left of the singer's all that's left of the song.
Stand for the ovation,
And give her one last celebration.

Peter & Judy: Put your hands together, and help her along,
All that's left of the singer's all that's left of the song

All: Put your hands together, help her along,
All that's left of the singer's all that's left of the song
Peter & Judy: Stand for the ovation
Give her one last celebration

All: Put your hands together, help her along,
All that's left of the singer's all that's left of the song.
Stand for the ovation,
Give her one last celebration
